Spotlight on Business & Entertainment #61

Monday, June 1st, 2009

And now for the first time in the history of Spotlight on Business and Entertainment we have a sequel a part two with  St. Vincent’s Hospital and their new program dealing with Mind, Body and Spirit. Back with me as I am Bruce-less and Biggin-less is the Communications Manager Mary Mooney and with her is Father Robert Sterling Meyer the Chief of Staff for the office of the president and C.E.O. at St.Vincents. He is also an attorney and before this served as legal advisor to the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations. In the first part we dealt more with the medical and mechanical end of describing the new Mind, Body and Spirit program, guess you could say just the Mind and Body. Father Bob comes to us and gives us the full view of the Spirit of it all and how it’s role will influence and hopefully play a big significance in the future with St. Vincent’s Hospital. For more on this exciting new program go to:http://www.svcmc.org/body.cfm?id=1712  or www.svcm.org/mind/body/spirit.
And now for a twist and always controversial we have joining us Dr. Dave Ores a rocker fully tattooed doesn’t drive a BMW but does a Harley. He has been serving the lower east side for 15 years now with his own style of treating his patients and his on going crusade against health insurance policies and practices. His belief is everyone should be able to afford health care and not have to worry about doing it with health insurance. It should be a Right and not a privilege, and needs to be NOT FOR PROFIT!  He shares with us his view points on how to afford health care and not have to always worry about waiting when you are really sick to see a doctor and be able to learn about preventive health care measures in taking care of yourself.  For more about Rock with the Doc and to learn about his programs from General Practice to Laser Tattoo , Hair Removal to Videos and Testimonials and his wish for his own reality series (look out Dr. Drew) go to: www.LowerEastSideMedical.com. Oh yeah he makes house calls and answers his own phone try it at 917-723-4206. One more note the music you hear is from our very own engineer Tommy Eichmann’s band called The Crash Moderns  which he plays keyboards/vocals for and you can hear more from them on www.thecrashmoderns.com
