Born
in Manhattan, raised in Northern California and Geneva, Switzerland,
Piers returned to New York in March 2005 to record, perform
and teach guitar. His goal as a musician is to combine a fiery,
energetic approach with precise technique, a clean old-school
tone, utmost respect for the founding geniuses of modern music
and a deep love of the Blues.
Piers
has worked as a session musician recording hundreds of jingles
and record dates. He has also toured with Wilson Picket, The
Main Ingredient, Esther Phillips, Phyllis Hyman, and Rainforest
Band, among others and his original songs have been recorded
by various artists.
In
Switzerland, Piers produced an award-winning 31st for French
pop legend Marie LaForet and was able to contribute an essential
American jazz style to this landmark project for the debut release
of a new label owned by TeleFrance Un.
