Steal This Radio
With Mitchel Cohen
An
Hour of Mayhem, Music & Ecology
This week: Show #18
This week's guest, Alan Podber, performs LIVE in the studio. Al is
a blues/old-time-country guitar player and mandolinist
extraordinaire, a founding member of both the Delaware Water Gap
and Wretched Refuse string bands, a former host of several music
programs, including "A Taste of the Blues," on WBAI-FM (99.5 FM in
NYC), and a current member of the NYC Labor Chorus. On today's
Steal This Radio, Al discusses the significance of the Blues. In
particular, he tells the story of the life of Huddie Ledbetter
(Leadbelly), and performs some of Leadbelly's songs as well as a
few of his own.
But before we get to that, Mitchel Cohen continues the discussion
of Wikipedia that he began last show. A change to an item in
Wikipedia coming from someone inside American Airlines has changed
the entry dramatically, concerning what occurred on Sept. 11, 2007.
And journalist Robert Fisk raises questions about 9-11 for the
>>first time. So listen, and learn!
